GAEREA
Gaerea is a Portuguese post-black metal band formed in 2016 in Porto. Known for their intense and atmospheric sound, they blend traditional black metal with elements of post-metal and progressive influences. Their music delves into themes of isolation, despair, and the human condition, often eschewing typical black metal tropes for more introspective content. The band maintains anonymity by wearing ornate masks during performances, focusing attention on their art rather than individual identities. Their discography includes the EP Gaerea (2016) and four full-length albums: Unsettling Whispers (2018), Limbo (2020), Mirage (2022), and Coma (2024).
